The Somerset County Local Management Board is a non-profit organization that serves as the local coordinator and planning entity for programs for children, youth and families. By analyzing demographic data and talking to both key informants and members of the community, the SCLMB assesses the most pressing problems facing children and their families and develops a plan to generate the resources and implement programs to meet those needs. The SCLMB emphasizes prevention, early intervention and community-based services. Our goal is to promote a safe, healthy and stable environment for all Somerset County children and families.
The SCLMB works across all human services agencies, schools, law enforcement and community organizations to provide comprehensive programming designed to support children, youth and families in Somerset County. We currently have partnerships with Eastern Shore Psychological Services to provide Healthy Families Lower Shore home visiting program, It Takes a Village to Help Our Children and Garland Hayward Youth Center for after school programs, Maryland State Police and Maryland Natural Resources Police for underage drinking prevention and Somerset County Public Schools for family navigation.
